OpenWeatherMap

Among the available types of device in Databoom, there is the type OpenWeatherMap. Adding a device of this type, Databoom begins to record the weather data from the site openweathermap.org.

Adding an OpenWeather device

The page to add an OpenWeather device is entirely analogous to the addition of a standard device one. The user needs to specify a location and Databoom will create a device with the weather data in the same position or, if not available, the nearest one.

The created device is not owned by the user, but by the platform, using a subscription/sharing system. If the user chooses not to follow the device anymore, this will be available for all the oter users that will add the same locations.

Open Weather data is collected hourly. If a location has already been added previously by other users, the recorded data will be present in the device and accessible.
